1. About these terms & the nature of this site
These terms describe the relationship between you and UK Exchange Network for the ordering, delivery and buy-back of foreign currency. Throughout, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to UK Exchange Network, and “you” means the person placing an order.
Please note: this website is a demonstration, and the domain ukex.net is offered for sale. The company, registration details, rates, fees, statistics and reviews shown here are illustrative and are presented to show what the brand could carry. No currency is actually bought, sold or delivered, no payments are taken, and no contract is formed by anything on this site. The wording below is written as a genuine UK currency service would write it, so a prospective buyer can see the brand in full.
The illustrative operating entity would be UKEX Currency Services Ltd, registered in England & Wales (Company No. 15829004), registered with HMRC as a Money Service Business.
2. Who can order
To place an order you must be at least 18 years old, ordering on your own behalf, and able to enter into a contract. We deliver to residential and business addresses within the United Kingdom only, and we cannot post currency to addresses outside the UK or to PO boxes.
You must give accurate details when you order. If the information you provide is incomplete or does not match the results of our checks, we may pause or decline the order.
3. Placing an order & how rates are quoted
Rates shown around the site and in our converter are indicative. They move with the market and are there to give you a sense of the price, not to guarantee it.
Your exact rate is fixed — “locked” — at the moment you confirm and pay for your order. Once locked, your rate will not change because of market movements after that point; that risk sits with us, not you. A confirmation email setting out your currency, amount, rate and total is your record of the order.
Online orders run from £50 up to £2,500 of currency per traveller. Larger amounts are welcome by arrangement — call us on +1 808 517 5677 and we will set it up with the appropriate identity checks.
4. Payment & fees
We charge no commission. The rate you are quoted is the rate you pay, and there is no surcharge for paying by debit card. Credit-card payments may carry a small fee, which is always shown clearly before you confirm.
You can pay by debit card, credit card, bank transfer, or Apple Pay and Google Pay, through our encrypted checkout. We begin preparing your order once payment has cleared. If a payment fails or is reversed, we may hold or cancel the order until it is settled.
5. Delivery
Currency is counted, sealed and posted by Royal Mail Special Delivery. Each parcel is tracked, requires a signature on arrival, and is covered against loss in transit, so your cash never sits unattended on a doormat.
- Order before 3pm on a working day for delivery the next working day, guaranteed by 1pm.
- Standard delivery takes 2–3 working days and is free on orders over £750.
- Click & collect is available from our London and Manchester desks at no charge.
Please make sure someone is available to sign. If a delivery is missed, Royal Mail will leave a card so you can rearrange delivery or collect from your local office. Quoted timings depend on Royal Mail and do not include the day the order is placed.
6. Selling currency back
If you come home with leftover notes, you can sell them back to us. Start a sell-back order online and we will email you a free, pre-paid and tracked postage label. We agree the buy-back rate when your order is created.
Post your notes to our secure counting room using the label provided. Once we receive and verify the notes against your order, we pay the agreed sterling amount to your nominated UK bank account, usually within one working day. We buy back notes only, not coins, and the currencies we accept are listed when you place the order.
7. Cancellations & changes
Because currency prices move constantly, an order represents a live rate we have committed to on your behalf, so there is no automatic cooling-off period once it is placed. If your plans change, contact us as soon as possible: where an order has not yet been dispatched we will do our best to amend or cancel it, though any difference in the market rate at the point of cancellation may apply.
If you receive an order that is incorrect or damaged, tell us straight away and we will put it right.
8. Identity & anti-money-laundering checks
As a money service business we are required to verify our customers and to monitor for financial crime. We may carry out identity and address checks, and for larger or unusual orders we may ask for additional documents before we proceed. These checks help keep everyone’s money safe and are a normal part of dealing in currency.
We may decline or delay an order, or ask for more information, where our checks make that necessary. You can read more on our AML & compliance page, and how we handle your information in our privacy policy.
9. Our liability
We take care to count, seal and deliver every order correctly, and orders in transit are covered against loss. Where something goes wrong because of us, we will put it right — but we are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen, or that arise from incorrect details you have given us, such as a wrong delivery address.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under the law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Events outside our control
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control — for example postal strikes or disruption, severe weather, power or network failures, or changes in the law. If such an event affects your order, we will let you know and agree a sensible way forward, which may include rearranging delivery or refunding you.
11. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the law of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have jurisdiction.
